Today, My Website Went Live
Today my website went live.
I added a decent baseline of content for anyone navigating the site, with the hope that there’s something here that catches their interest.
I’m so new to this, and honestly, it feels a little silly to be this open and honest on a public platform. But I’ve found that when something feels uncomfortable at first, it’s usually a sign that I’m growing. I’m writing this now to convince myself that this is another one of those moments: growth.
I’ve been binge-watching YouTube videos about being a new creator on the platform. Each one offers an array of advice on content optimization, along with encouragement for the person watching who is likely trying to build their own platform at the same time.
One thing I heard was that identifying your competition can actually be a good sign because it means there’s a market for whatever it is you’re creating.
Later, I came across a creator who seems to be sharing a message very similar to mine: build the life you want, no matter where you came from.
My first thought was, Maybe this is a good sign. Maybe it means there are people out there who need to hear this message.
But honestly, that thought didn’t stop me from feeling discouraged.
It’s hard not to wonder if someone else is already saying what you wanted to say. If they’re doing it better. If there’s still room for you.
But maybe this is my sign to keep going anyway. To keep trusting the process. To remind myself that I will never know what I’m capable of if I don’t give myself the chance to try.
So, here I am. Trying.
